Lauren Carruth, MD graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University with a major in Biochemistry.  

 

She earned her medical degree at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Hunterdon Medical Center.  

 

She lived in Atlantic County, New Jersey for 9 years working at AtlantiCare. During her time there she worked for 4 years at the Special Care Center, a patient centered medical home practice that focused on improving the care and health outcomes of the sickest, more vulnerable populations in Atlantic City.  She also was a Primary Care Champion for Diabetes and worked with Diabetes team to develop best practices for AtlantiCare's Primary Care Practices.

 

More recently she has worked in Mercer County where her focus has been on  working with her patients to focus on preventive medicine as well as managing chronic diseases.  

 

Since her residency she has been involved with the New Jersey Academy of Family Practice, the New Jersey chapter of the American Academy of Family Practice.
